Your focus is access to learning, attention, and self-management. You will work alongside class teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff so strategies stay consistent across subjects. You will help the student start tasks promptly, stay on task, and complete work with less prompting over time. You will use agreed routines such as clear step-by-step instructions, chunked tasks, visual reminders, short movement breaks, timed work periods, and calm check-ins at key points in the day. ADHD often impacts concentration, impulse control, and organisation, so your support will prioritise predictable structure and quick resets when focus drops. You will keep brief, factual notes on what helps and what triggers difficulties, then feed back to the team so support tightens over time. Your work will sit within the graduated approach used in schools, where support is assessed, planned, delivered, and reviewed based on impact.
