RM Recruit is working in partnership with our Lambeth based housing client to recruit an experienced Income Officer for 4 months with the possibility of extension, offering a hybrid working arrangement. The Income Officer will play a key role in maximising rental income while supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies. You will manage a patch, work proactively to prevent arrears, and provide advice on rent, welfare benefits, and financial inclusion. Main duties include: Maximize income from current and former tenants through proactive and supportive income recovery practices Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service, ensuring tenants understand their rent responsibilities Monitor rent accounts, identify potential arrears early, and maintain risk registers Carry out personal contact with tenants, providing housing benefit and financial advice, including complex cases Lead on rent collection for a designated patch and other cases assigned by the Senior Income Officer Ensure services are delivered in line with agreed performance targets Prepare legal documentation and represent the organisation in court where required As the ideal candidate, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to balance firmness and empathy. You will possess strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, particularly around repayment plans and debt resolution.
