OCS Recruitment are working with a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor to cover projects across the North East region. This is an excellent opportunity for a Health and Safety professional with a background in civil engineering who is looking to join an established contractor and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across a range of live construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with site teams and operational management, providing practical advice, carrying out site inspections and helping to drive a proactive safety culture across the region. The Role Carry out regular site inspections and audits across civil engineering and groundworks projects. Provide practical health and safety advice and guidance to site management and operational teams. Monitor compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, company policies and site-specific procedures. Assist with the preparation and review of RAMS, risk assessments and method statements. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, supporting the implementation of corrective actions. Deliver toolbox talks and promote safety awareness across site teams. Support site teams with safe systems of work, permit procedures and general safety compliance. Maintain accurate HandS records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
