Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary
Location: Southampton
Salary: andpound;70 to andpound;110 dependent on experience*
Start Date: Easter until end of Academic Year
Hours:andnbsp;22.5 Hours 8.30-13.00 Term time only

You will work closely with teachers to support pupils'' learning, assist individuals or small groups, and help create a positive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued.

Who are you£


  • Has experience working with children in a classroom environment
  • Has high expectations of achievement and behaviour for all children
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Math and English Grade C or equivalent)
  • Caring, patient, and has excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate initiative, and has a willingness to learn
  • A team player, able to collaborate closely with teachers and other staff

Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the teacher by working with individuals or groups of children to enhance their learning and development
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding practices and confidentiality
  • Establish supportive, caring relationships with children, promoting respect, self-esteem, and a positive school ethos
  • Contribute to evaluation, review, and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO, and other support team members
  • Manage behaviour and individual needs in line with school policies, offering a fair and consistent approach
  • Help motivate children, clarify instructions, and encourage independent learning
  • Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with external agencies as needed
