Red Recruitment is recruiting a Claims Handler to join a growing team in Bristol, providing claims management services.

Key Responsibilities of a Claims Handler:

• Manage a caseload of professional indemnity claims from initial notification through to resolution

• Review policy coverage, investigate claims and assess their merits and potential value

• Support insured professionals in responding appropriately to complaints and claims

• Negotiate settlements within delegated authority limits, ensuring fair and commercially sound outcomes

• Proactively manage claims to avoid unnecessary litigation and control costs

• Maintain accurate and complete records on the electronic case management system

• Prepare reports for insurers and support monthly and ad hoc reporting requirements

• Meet internal and insurer service standards, KPIs and quality assurance requirements

• Apply insurers'' reserving policies and identify trends or risks requiring escalation

• Build effective relationships with insurers, insured professionals and external suppliers
  
  

Key Skills and Experience of a Claims Handler:

• Previous claims handling experience with a strong grounding in technical claims knowledge

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines

• A proactive and commercially aware approach to resolving claims

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records

• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team

• Commitment to professional development and keeping industry knowledge up to date
