The Opportunity

An established and highly successful South Wales construction contractor is seeking to appoint a Business Development & Marketing Director to join its senior leadership team.

Operating across social housing, public sector, refurbishment, maintenance, retrofit and specialist construction markets, the business has established a strong reputation for quality delivery, long-term partnerships and repeat business.

With a secure order book, an established position on numerous frameworks and ambitious growth plans, the business is now looking for an experienced commercial and relationship-focused leader to help shape the next stage of its development.

This is a board-facing role offering significant influence over future strategy, market positioning and work-winning activity.

The Role

Working closely with Directors and senior operational leaders, you will lead the company''s business development, marketing and external engagement activities.

Success in this role will come from your ability to identify opportunities, strengthen relationships, support successful work-winning strategies and raise the profile of the business within its target sectors.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and delivering the company''s business development and marketing strategy.
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, consultants, framework providers and industry stakeholders.
• Identifying and converting new business opportunities.
• Supporting framework applications, tender opportunities and strategic pursuits.
• Working closely with operational and pre-construction teams to maximise work-winning success.
• Enhancing brand awareness and market visibility across core sectors.
• Leading external communications, promotional activity and market engagement.
• Attending client events, networking functions and industry forums.
• Monitoring market activity, procurement pipelines and emerging opportunities.
• Helping shape future growth strategies and business planning activities.

Essential Requirements

• Proven business development, marketing or growth experience within construction, property services, housing, maintenance or related sectors.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
• Experience supporting successful tendering and work-winning activities.
• Understanding of public sector and framework procurement environments.
• Commercially aware with an ability to identify and develop opportunities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively at senior leadership level.
