SRB Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools | Barry

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)?

Academics is currently recruiting experienced ALN Teaching Assistants to work within Specialist Resource Base (SRB) classrooms across mainstream primary schools in Barry and the rest of the Vale of Glamorgan.

We work closely with several local schools who have a growing demand for skilled and dedicated TAs to support pupils within their SRB settings. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a specialist environment, helping pupils access education, develop their independence and reach their full potential.

• Supporting pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs within an SRB classroom.

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support.

• Assisting pupils with their learning, communication and social development.

• Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour and individual learning targets.

• Adapting activities and resources to meet pupils'' individual needs.

• Working closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide consistent, effective support.

• Helping create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

• Previous experience supporting pupils with ALN is essential.

• Experience working within an SRB, specialist provision or similar setting is highly desirable.

• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

• Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional and complex needs.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• A genuine passion for supporting children''s development and education.
