Export Control Officer

Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire (adhoc Hybrid)

Salary: Circa -45,000 + bonus + excellent benefits

Are you an experienced Export Control professional looking for your next opportunity within the defence and aerospace sector?

We''re looking for an Export Control Officer to join a leading defence manufacturing business in Kidderminster, supporting the compliant movement of controlled goods, technology and technical data across international borders.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance across a complex, security-sensitive engineering and manufacturing environment.

The Role

You''ll be responsible for managing export licensing activities, maintaining compliance with UK strategic export controls and supporting the business in meeting its international trade obligations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing export licences, including SIELs, OIELs and OGELs, and maintaining accurate licensing records.
• Ensuring compliance with UK export control legislation and supporting US ITAR requirements.
• Classifying products, software and technical data against relevant strategic export control lists.
• Coordinating export control audits, investigations and corrective actions.
• Managing MOD Form 680 and F1686 approval processes.
• Monitoring international sanctions, export restrictions and regulatory changes.
• Developing internal procedures and delivering export control training across Engineering, Procurement, Sales and Supply Chain.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to maintain robust compliance and governance standards.

About You

We''re keen to hear from candidates with:

• Experience in export control, import/export compliance or international trade within manufacturing, engineering, defence or aerospace.
• A sound understanding of UK strategic export controls and export licensing.
• Experience managing licence applications, controlled goods classification and compliance documentation.
• Knowledge of sanctions, international trade restrictions and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• The confidence to advise stakeholders, support audits and drive compliance improvements.

Experience with ITAR/EAR regulations and working within a security-sensitive environment would be advantageous.
