Accounts Assistant

THE COMPANY Our client is a well-established service business based in Burntwood, operating within the motor trade. With a strong local presence and a supportive working culture, they are looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving organisation where no two days are the same, and where you ll play a key role in keeping the finance function running smoothly. THE ROLE Reporting to the Accountant, you will support the day-to-day activities of the accounts department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. Key responsibilities include: • Posting daily card and cash banking, and processing and reconciling petty cash. • Posting bank statements daily, including preparing month-end bank reconciliations. • Running debtor reports and liaising weekly with department managers to resolve outstanding debts across Vehicles, Service, Parts, Rental and Warranty. • Raising, processing and authorising payments such as refunds, cashbacks, goodwill, settlements and vehicle purchases in line with company policy. • Supporting the department with additional ad hoc duties as required. REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate will have: • Previous experience in a similar role within a busy, fast-paced accounts department. • Motor trade experience and Kerridge DMS knowledge (advantageous but not essential). • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. • Strong organisational skills, atte
