About the Opportunity

This position offers an excellent opportunity to lead complex engineering and manufacturing projects from initial sales handover right through to final installation, commissioning, and client sign-off. Working closely with design, production, suppliers, and external clients, you will take ownership of balancing time, cost, and quality across high-value machinery and equipment orders.

We are specifically seeking a Project Manager with a solid technical foundation - someone who thrives in managing the multi-faceted elements of project delivery. You do not need to perform detailed design engineering, but you must bring the technical confidence to interpret drawings, manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), and maintain strict commercial control.

Key Responsibilities

- Full Lifecycle Project Delivery: Manage orders from sales handover through design, procurement, fabrication, and shipping, to site installation and final handover.

- Scheduling & Department Coordination: Track timelines across all internal departments and external suppliers to proactively identify and resolve potential delays. Lead project review meetings and stakeholder communications.

- Cost & Commercial Control: Track live project spending against budgeted costs, negotiate with suppliers, and collaborate with costing teams to protect profit margins.

- Technical & Data Management: Perform initial reviews of engineering drawings for contractual compliance, maintain project BOMs on SAP/Sage systems, and oversee technical documentation and instruction manuals.

- Site Support & Logistics: Perform pre-dispatch material checks, generate project packing lists, and provide remote technical support during site installation, commissioning, and warranty phases.

Candidate Requirements

- Proven experience in a Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, or Project Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to comfortably read engineering drawings, understand mechanical assemblies, and manage detailed BOMs.

- Track record of delivering complex physical hardware or industrial equipment projects from end to end.

- Excellent organisational and commercial skills, including cost tracking, project scheduling, and supplier negotiation.
