Senior Estimator

Location: London
Salary: Up to -100k + package

I''m currently working with a leading specialist contractor who is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in securing major rail, infrastructure and civil engineering projects, bringing strong estimating experience and an understanding of the rail sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead estimating and tendering activities for major rail and civil engineering projects.

• Develop competitive bid strategies to secure profitable work.

• Manage tender programmes from initial enquiry through to submission.

• Coordinate internal bid teams and liaise with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.

• Prepare tender settlements and lead approval processes.

• Identify value engineering opportunities through design and construction methodology reviews.

• Manage project risk registers and commercial assessments.

• Lead tender presentations and support business development activities.

• Support project handovers and mentor junior members of the estimating team.

Requirements:

• Strong estimating experience within rail, infrastructure or civil engineering.

• Previous experience pricing complex rail or infrastructure projects.

• Good understanding of rail construction methods and delivery environments.

• Experience managing tenders and coordinating bid teams.

• Strong commercial awareness and technical understanding.

• Proficiency with Candy or similar estimating software.

• Degree qualified, with RICS, CIOB, ICE or equivalent membership advantageous.
