Fortress Recruit is supporting a leading engineering and research organisation in their search for a Project Manager to join their specialist CAPEX team based in Bedford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring or developing Project Manager to take ownership of technical investment, infrastructure and business improvement projects within a unique engineering environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing projects from initial requirements gathering and business case development through to delivery and closure.
• Developing project plans, schedules, budgets and key milestones to support successful delivery.
• Coordinating with technical teams, procurement, finance and external suppliers to ensure projects progress effectively.
• Monitoring project costs, risks, assumptions and dependencies, implementing mitigation plans where required.
• Managing changes to project scope, timescales and budgets.
• Preparing project updates and presenting progress, risks and solutions to stakeholders and senior management.
• Supporting procurement activities and supplier negotiations to achieve value for money.
• Working collaboratively with other project managers and technical specialists to improve project delivery processes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience supporting or managing full life-cycle projects within an engineering, manufacturing, construction, facilities or other technical environment.
• An understanding of project planning, budgets, schedules, risks and stakeholder management.
• Experience coordinating internal teams, suppliers or contractors to deliver project objectives.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to understand technical information and work effectively with subject matter experts.
• A degree in an engineering or technically demanding discipline, a relevant project management qualification or equivalent practical experience.

Based at the Bedford facility, this is a full-time position, 38 hours per week.-The salary on offer is -50,000 per annum, alongside an attractive benefits package including 26 days'' holiday, pension scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance, enhanced company sick pay and participation in a share incentive plan.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be British born and eligible to meet UK Eyes Only security requirements. Applicants must also satisfy the relevant security clearance requirements, including a minimum of five years'' continuous UK residency.-
