Quantity Surveyor Civils / Construction Location: West Thurrock, Essex Position: Permanent We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction contractor working on a long-term civil engineering project in West Thurrock, Essex. This is a predominantly site-based position, working from one project rather than travelling across multiple sites. The opportunity would suit a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within civil engineering and infrastructure. Previous civils experience would be beneficial but is not essential, and candidates from other construction sectors will be considered. The Role Working closely with the site, project and commercial teams, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial management and successful delivery of the project. Key responsibilities will include: Preparing valuations and payment applications. Subcontractor procurement and commercial management. Measurement and valuation of works. Monitoring project costs and commercial performance. Managing variations and change. Supporting cost forecasting and reporting. Identifying commercial risks and opportunities. Preparing and agreeing subcontractor accounts. Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts. Working closely with the site team to monitor progress against costs.
