About the Role
Our client is an established and growing construction contractor with an expanding portfolio of projects across London, the South East and surrounding regions.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The company delivers a varied range of projects across residential, commercial, industrial, retail, education, social housing and fit-out, providing excellent variety for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of allocated construction projects
• Take responsibility for project costs from procurement through to final account
• Prepare and review valuations
• Manage subcontractor accounts
• Procure subcontractors and negotiate packages
• Manage variations and change
• Prepare cost reports and forecasts
• Monitor project budgets and cash flow
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Assist with tendering and pre-construction activities
• Review subcontractor applications and payments
• Produce monthly CVRs and commercial reports
• Manage final accounts
• Work closely with project managers and site teams
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and supply chain

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within UK construction
• Main contractor or specialist contractor experience
• Experience working on construction projects from procurement through to completion
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
• Excellent understanding of valuations, variations and final accounts
• Strong procurement and subcontractor management experience
• Good commercial awareness
• Strong Excel and IT skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or relevant construction discipline preferred
• MRICS or working towards would be advantageous
• Full UK driving licence

• £55,000–£65,000 salary depending on experience
