We are recruiting a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist education setting in Wirral, Merseyside.

This Secondary Teaching Assistant role supports pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping to create a calm, safe and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant based in Wirral, your daily duties will include:

• Supporting pupils with SEND in and out of the classroom, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and remove barriers to progress
• Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence using consistent, restorative approaches and clear boundaries
• Supporting day-to-day operations in your role as a Secondary Teaching Assistant to ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support strategies, interventions and pupil support plans
• Contributing to a safe learning environment by following safer recruitment expectations and maintaining professional standards at all times

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful as a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will need:

• Previous experience supporting children and young people in a school or specialist education setting (SEND experience highly desirable)
• Proven experience working as a Secondary Teaching Assistant or in a similar education support role
• Strong practical knowledge of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and best practice when working with young people
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to complete one) and eligibility to work in the UK
