Your new company Our client is anestablished civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse range ofinfrastructure projects across Scotland. Due to continued workload, they arelooking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join theircommercial team in Glasgow on a long-term basis. Your new role AsQuantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial support across civil engineeringprojects, working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors andthe wider commercial team. Key responsibilities will include: Managing the commercial aspects of live civil engineering projectsSubcontractor procurement, appointment and managementPreparing valuations and applications for paymentManaging variations, compensation events and project changeCost forecasting, reporting and CVRsIdentifying commercial risks and opportunitiesSupporting contractual administration and maintaining accurate recordsPreparing and negotiating final accountsWorking closely with operational teams to monitor project performanceBuilding effective relationships with clients and subcontractors What you''ll need to succeed Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a civil engineering contractorStrong contractor-side commercial experienceGood working knowledge of NEC contractsExperience across infrastructure, water, utilities, marine, energy or heavy civils would be advantageousStrong subcontractor procurement and management experienceExperience managing valuations, variations, ..... full job details .....
