The Role Are you a Youth Worker looking to bring your skills into a school setting? We are seeking a passionate, relatable, and resilient individual to join a Blackpool secondary school as a Student Mentor/Youth Worker. This role is not about sitting in a classroom; it''s about using your transferable skills to engage students aged 11-16 who may be struggling with mainstream education. You will be the bridge between the students and their learning, helping them navigate social challenges, emotional regulation, and attendance. Utilising Your Transferable Skills We value your experience outside of the traditional classroom. We are looking for people who can bring skills from: Youth Work: Building rapport quickly with hard-to-reach teenagers. Residential Childcare: Understanding trauma, triggers, and the importance of safeguarding (highly desirable). Sports Coaching: Using discipline, teamwork, and high energy to motivate a group. Mental Health Support: Providing a calm "safe space" for students in crisis. Key Responsibilities 1:1 Mentoring: Supporting students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. De-escalation: Using your experience to calm high-stress situations before they escalate. Inclusion: Helping students re-engage with lessons through creative, non-traditional methods.
