World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit a Technical Author subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract. The role will be predominately working remotely from home.Rate: £43.00 per hourOvertime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at ''time and a quarter''Location: StevenageHybrid / Remote working: The role will be 2 or 4 days per month in the office and the rest remote. (some flexibility on this may be needed).Duration: 12 Months with very likely extension. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter. Author Test and meet the team - onsite for successful candidates.Technical Author Job Description: To write technical documentation in Standard Generalised Mark-up Language (SGML), Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) and traditional formats for the Company''s products in accordance with individual contractual requirementsTo enable safe and effective operation and repair of the equipment.The role covers the whole product lifecycle through design, development and in-service support. Skillset/experience required: Experienced in the production of technical documentation with a detailed knowledge of MoD publication standards ASD S1000D and AESP.Ideally qualified to HND/HNC or equivalent level in an engineering related subject or ex forces senior technician.Knowledge of SGML editing software (Arbortext Epic)
