Are you a Health and Safety professional with construction experience who enjoys working closely with site teams and making practical improvements?

ProGroup Recruitment is supporting an established passive fire protection contractor in appointing a SHE Advisor. This is an opportunity to play an active role in strengthening safety, health and environmental standards across the business, supporting operational teams with advice, training and hands-on guidance.

Working closely with Contracts Managers, Supervisors and the wider operational team, you will help embed a positive safety culture, improve processes and ensure high standards are consistently maintained.

The role:

• Provide practical health and safety advice, coaching and mentoring to operational teams.
• Carry out site audits and office inspections, ensuring actions are followed through to completion.
• Review and improve health and safety procedures and site documentation.
• Advise on CDM requirements and support compliance across projects.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, producing reports with root cause analysis and recommendations.
• Develop and deliver toolbox talks and internal health and safety training.
• Identify training and qualification needs within operational teams.
• Lead initiatives to improve safety awareness, near-miss reporting and other SHE performance measures.
• Attend operational and pre-start meetings, contributing advice at the planning stage.
• Prepare monthly SHE reports and support ongoing improvements across the business.

About you:

• Previous health and safety experience within construction.
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Experience of site audits, incident investigations and developing health and safety documentation.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, processes and procedures.
• Confidence delivering training and working with operational teams to improve standards.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build relationships while challenging unsafe practices.
• Full UK driving licence.

A CSCS card and knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 would be advantageous.
