Cover Supervisor - Daily Supply

Are you experienced in supporting secondary-aged students and looking for flexible opportunities within local schools?

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Hammersmith and Fulham on a daily supply basis.

This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with young people, are confident taking responsibility for a classroom and want the flexibility of choosing when they work. It can also provide valuable experience for those looking to develop their career within education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide classroom supervision when a teacher is unavailable. You will ensure students follow the work provided and that lessons run smoothly in a safe and positive environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes across a variety of subjects

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and activities

• Keeping students focused and engaged throughout the lesson

• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations

• Providing appropriate support to students with their learning

• Taking accurate registers

• Communicating any concerns or incidents to the relevant school staff

• Promoting a calm, respectful and productive classroom environment

There is no requirement to plan or mark lessons. However, you should feel comfortable working independently and managing a classroom effectively.

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people

• Be confident managing a classroom independently

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Be able to follow lesson plans and school instructions accurately

• Be dependable, punctual and professional

• Be adaptable and comfortable working in different school environments

• Demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting students and their education

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Sports Coach or in a comparable role would be advantageous.

• An up-to-date CV

• Proof of Right to Work in the UK

• An Enhanced DBS certificate suitable for working with children, or willingness to obtain one

• Two suitable professional references

• Relevant identification documents

• Evidence of relevant qualifications or training, where applicable

• Any required safeguarding documentation or training
