Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will help with daily routines including personal care and feeding. Candidates must have at least 6 months of experience in care and demonstrate compassion.

As a Healthcare Assistant/support worker, you will work under supervision of nursing staff alongside other healthcare assistants.

Your duties may include:

Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing

Assisting with meals and feeding

Making and changing beds

Turning patients to prevent pressure sores

Talking to patients to reduce anxiety

Helping patients move around

Assisting with toileting and bedpans

Maintaining cleanliness of wards or homes

Managing supplies and equipment

Day-to-day tasks may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients within hospitals. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
