SEMH Secondary Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Thrapston, Northamptonshire
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 3:30pm
Contract: Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: -110115 per day

We are currently looking for a caring, enthusiastic and resilient SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a secondary school in Thrapston, Northamptonshire, starting as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and helping them reach their full potential.

The Role:

• Supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Helping pupils manage their emotions, behaviour and learning.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with students.
• Creating a safe, supportive and positive learning environment.
• Working closely with teaching staff and the wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or SEN setting.
• Is patient, understanding, resilient and approachable.
• Has strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Is passionate about making a positive difference in young people''s lives.
• Can commit to full-time, term-time-only work.

DBS Requirements:

Applicants must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new Enhanced DBS.

The cost of the DBS application can be reimbursed after 20 days of completed work.
