Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs School
Location: Tonbridge
Hours: Full time, 5 days a week

We’re looking for a caring and reliable Teaching Assistant to support pupils at a special school in Tonbridge. The school works with children and young people with a range of profound, severe and complex learning needs. Many pupils are autistic, and some have additional communication, physical, sensory or medical needs.
You’ll help pupils take part in learning and daily activities, working alongside teachers and other staff to provide consistent, individual support. The role can be rewarding and varied, and calls for patience, flexibility and a calm, positive approach.
What you’ll do

• Support pupils in lessons and across the school day
• Help pupils communicate, engage and develop independence
• Follow individual learning and support plans
• Work closely with teachers and colleagues to provide consistent care
• Support pupils’ wellbeing, safety and participation in activities

• A kind, patient and dependable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence adapting to each pupil’s needs
• A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEND
• Relevant experience is helpful; a willingness to learn is essential
