An established and growing building services contractor specialising in the design, manufacture and delivery of innovative offsite and modular MEP solutions across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Due to continued growth within their Data Centre division, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team based in Banbridge.

Your new role
As Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will take a lead role in the electrical design and delivery of modular building services solutions for large-scale data centre projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop electrical designs, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts and technical schedules.
• Carry out load assessments, cable sizing, voltage drop, fault level, protection coordination and earthing calculations.
• Design LV distribution, lighting, plant power supplies, controls and BMS interfaces.
• Select electrical equipment and prepare technical submittals and design documentation.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, HVAC, controls and other building services disciplines.
• Review designs and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and graduates.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, manufacturing and project teams to resolve technical queries.
• Support procurement, installation, testing and commissioning activities.

What you''ll need to succeed

• Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering qualification or equivalent.
• 5+ years'' relevant electrical building services design experience.
• Strong experience in electrical calculations, LV distribution and building services design.
• Experience using electrical design and calculation software such as Amtech or similar.
• Good understanding of relevant British/European standards and current electrical regulations.
• Experience coordinating electrical services with other MEP disciplines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with clients, suppliers and internal project teams.
• Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior engineers.

Experience within data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or other technically complex environments would be advantageous, as would experience with Revit, BIM, SolidWorks, BMS integration or modular/offsite construction.
