Take the lead on high-value electrical bids and help shape winning tender strategies in a growing engineering business.

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Estimator, who will be required to work on a permanent basis in Burton upon Trent.

Role Purpose

• Lead the preparation and delivery of high-quality electrical tenders and bids.
• Work closely with commercial and technical teams to develop competitive and innovative solutions.
• Support business growth through accurate estimating and effective bid management.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and commercial improvement.
• Manage client relationships throughout the tendering process.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact with clients throughout the bid process.
• Review tender drawings and prepare accurate quantity take-offs.
• Issue enquiries to the supply chain and assess returned quotations.
• Build detailed cost estimates using estimating software.
• Support value engineering and bid optimisation activities.
• Identify and manage commercial risk throughout the estimating process.
• Prepare and present bids for internal approval and client submission.
• Produce final tender documentation.
• Support contract reviews, negotiations and governance processes.
• Manage contract terms, warranties and obligations.
• Contribute to commercial strategy and margin improvement initiatives.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

• Electrical background within Building Services / MEP.
• Previous electrical estimating experience or strong commercial awareness.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Ability to provide high-level design for containment and LV systems where required.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence working across multiple teams and engaging key stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Full UK driving licence.
