Head of Technical Compliance and Risk

Overview
The Head of Technical Compliance and Risk will take responsibility for all compliance assurance and risk management, for the Estates, Environment and Facilities directorate. The role is a crucial post to ensure that activity across the multi-campus estate is compliant with legal and statutory requirements for all operational and project service provisions. It requires highly developed and emotionally astute leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams to achieve departmental targets for compliance. The role provides effective compliance assurance, risk management, and business continuity coordination, ensuring the needs of statutory and mandatory requirements are measured and met to agreed deadlines, with responsibility for reviewing, commenting and providing technical solutions for potential challenges.This is a highly collaborative role and the Head of Technical Compliance and Risk will work with the Heads of Maintenance, Capital Projects, Major Programmes and senior FM leads, supporting, co-developing and shaping plans and processes to ensure the directorate and the university remain safe and wholly compliant at all times. Key to success is the ability to analyse complex problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address them.Responsibilities
Provide compliance assurance, risk management, and business continuity coordination for the Estates, Environment and Facilities directorate.Review, comment on, and provide technical solutions for potential compliance challenges.Collaborate with Heads of Maintenance, Capital Projects, Major Programmes and senior FM leads to shape plans and processes to maintain safety and compliance.Collate information from audits, surveys and reports of plant and building services; analyse data from the CAFM system; review permits to work and method statements from contractors; design systems to control compliance data.Qualifications and Skills
Experience in compliance assurance and risk management within estates, environment or facilities contexts.Strong leadership and influencing abilities with the capacity to enthuse and mobilise teams.Ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical, workable solutions; proactive risk management and business continuity planning.Employment Details
