Place-based regeneration and economic strategies for sites, cities and regionsMasterplans for the regeneration of town centres, housing estates, industrial areas and other growth locations with a focus on establishing realistic and deliverable propositions and approachesBusiness cases to unlock funding and public sector decision making for major development, infrastructure and policy-based projects – including all five business cases in line with HM Treasury requirementsAnalysis of the likely property, regeneration and economic impacts of major infrastructure programmes and associated monitoring frameworksAssessment of the economic impact of developments and other investments, including social impact considerationsAdvice on future workspace needs, affordability and skills issuesEvidence base reports to support planning policy, strategic land promotion and planning applications, principally focused on employment land, employment workspace and town centresPreparation of socio-economic chapters of ES/EIA reportsQualifications and Skills
Intellectual curiosity and a passion for what you doAn interest in places and communitiesA strategic and analytical mindsetA passion and understanding of major trends in the economy, property sector and wider built environmentAn ability to collate and analyse a range of commercial, economic and demographic data and informationExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong project management, personal organisational, presentation and inter-personal skillsAn ability to work under defined timescales and to be adaptable to changing client requirementsYou will be required to demonstrate your ability to analyse and explain a range of information and data in a clear and concise way, with particular focus on high quality written reports and outputs, but also via presentations and stakeholder engagement. Technical skills of interest include core economics, policy and geography knowledge, Excel literacy, data handling, and familiarity with planning systems.Technical skills and requirements
Core: Degree (or equivalent) in economics, public policy, regeneration or geography; Excel literacy; ability to work with large datasets; numerical accuracy; ability to prepare high quality written output; understanding of the planning system and stakeholders involved in regeneration/economic developmentDesirable: Familiarity with major public datasets (ONS, NOMIS) and public real estate data; knowledge of socio-economic appraisal methods (Green Book) and evaluation methods (Magenta Book); experience with Excel audits, VBA, GIS; good understanding of the property market and its relationship to infrastructureCulture and inclusion
