Role Summary We are currently recruiting for an experienced HV Design Engineer to join our growing engineering operations. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing robust high-voltage electrical infrastructure, substations, and network connections. We are adopting a measured, quality-first approach to this search and are willing to take the time necessary to find the ideal fit for the team. Key Responsibilities Produce and review comprehensive high-voltage (HV) electrical designs, schematics, and layout diagrams. Design and specify primary and secondary HV plant equipment (such as switchgear, transformers, and protection systems). Ensure all designs comply with relevant UK industry standards, DNO/IDNO guidelines, and project specifications. Collaborate closely with internal project teams, technical leads, and external stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility and planning through to construction and commissioning. Key Requirements and Qualifications Technical Experience: Proven background in HV electrical design, with a strong preference for 132kV experience. Candidates with substantial 33kV experience and a strong willingness to scale up will also be considered.
