Design Technology / Photography Teacher – Wakefield

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Pay: £160–£230 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: January 2027
Contract: Long-term temporary, potentially until Easter
Hours: Full-time or 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday)

PK Education are recruiting an experienced Design Technology / Art and Design Teacher for a secondary school in Wakefield, starting January 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across KS3 Design Technology and KS4 Photography.

The Role:

• Deliver KS3 Design Technology lessons, predominantly CAD.
• Teach KS4 Photography, supporting pupils with their practical and creative development.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
• Assess pupil progress and maintain a positive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has proven experience teaching KS4 Photography – essential.
• Has a strong Art and Design or Design Technology background.
• Is confident delivering CAD at KS3.
• Holds an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
