HGV Driver Supervisor

£17.22 per hour plus a £15 daily bonus

Are you an experienced HGV driver who colleagues can rely on to keep things organised and deal calmly with problems?

Found Recruitment is recruiting an HGV Driver Supervisor for an established food distribution business in the Cranbrook area. The vacancy follows the relocation of a longstanding team member.

You’ll combine daily route driving with responsibility for helping the transport team get away on time each morning. Starting at 3am, you’ll make sure drivers are ready to leave, help resolve issues that could delay departures and keep the Transport Manager informed.

Your responsibilities will include

• Coordinating the morning departure of drivers and vehicles.

• Driving a daily route and supporting deliveries and collections.

• Helping monitor vehicle defects and coordinate minor repairs.

• Supporting vehicle movements, loading and wider depot activities.

• Helping new colleagues settle into the team.

• Carrying out driving assessments for prospective drivers as part of the role.

• Working with planners and supporting the Transport Manager with day-to-day issues.

You’ll need at least one year’s HGV driving experience, an appropriate HGV licence and confidence manoeuvring at sites with restricted access. We’re looking for someone dependable and practical, who communicates clearly, supports colleagues and takes responsibility when something needs sorting.

Experience helping other drivers, mentoring colleagues or coordinating work would be useful.

The package includes

• £17.22 per hour,

• A £15 daily bonus.

• Approximately 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

• 3am starts, with finishing times dependent on the route.

• Additional overtime and night-out payments where applicable.

• 25 days’ annual leave, a pension scheme and secure on-site parking.

Estimated annual earnings are based on 50 paid hours and five bonus-eligible days each week over 52 weeks. Overtime and night-out payments are additional. Flexibility for occasional out-of-hours support, nights away or weekend cover is required.
