The vacancy follows the relocation of a longstanding team member.You ll combine daily route driving with responsibility for helping the transport team get away on time each morning. Starting at 3am, you ll make sure drivers are ready to leave, help resolve issues that could delay departures and keep the Transport Manager informed.Your responsibilities will includeCoordinating the morning departure of drivers and vehicles.Driving a daily route and supporting deliveries and collections.Helping monitor vehicle defects and coordinate minor repairs.Supporting vehicle movements, loading and wider depot activities.Helping new colleagues settle into the team.Carrying out driving assessments for prospective drivers as part of the role.Working with planners and supporting the Transport Manager with day-to-day issues.You ll need at least one year s HGV driving experience, an appropriate HGV licence and confidence manoeuvring at sites with restricted access.
