Factory Manager - Sheet Metal / Profile Fabrication

Permanent position - Immediate start available.

Salary: -60,000 - -65,000 PA, + Benefits, depending on experience

Location: Bishop''s Stortford area (SG11) - site-based.

Own transport required due to out-of-town location.

Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

A well-established metalwork fabrication facility is recruiting a hands-on Factory Manager to take full ownership of day-to-day operations. You''ll plan and oversee sheet metal fabrication jobs from start to finish, ensuring labour, materials and machinery are scheduled effectively to meet deadlines, while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity and Health & Safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule sheet metal fabrication work (people, materials, machines and deliveries).
• Manage jobs end-to-end to hit deadlines and maximise productivity.
• Read technical drawings/specs; oversee drafter sign-off and QC.
• Track KPIs and report performance, risks and improvements.
• Lead and develop a team of 5-8; manage training and performance.
• Own H&S (risk assessments, toolbox talks, inspections, investigations).
• Manage budget, suppliers and equipment maintenance.
• Produce simple quotations and advise on capacity/lead times.

Key Skills & Experience (Essential):

• Significant sheet metal / profile metal fabrication plus management / supervisory experience.
• Strong technical drawing/specification knowledge.
• CNC machinery experience (able to operate and train others).
• Strong planning/scheduling and KPI/data skills (Excel).
• H&S qualification/training.
• Own transport to SG11 and UK right to work.

Nice to have:

• 2D/3D nesting or CNC programming.
• Welding (aluminium/steel).
• Construction/architectural metalwork.
• First Aid training
