Procurement Assistant 

Are you organised, commercially minded and passionate about interiors, design or sourcing? This is an exciting opportunity to join a creative, growing business delivering high-end residential design and build projects.

We’re looking for a proactive Procurement Assistant to support the sourcing, purchasing and delivery of furniture, lighting, fabrics, materials and bespoke items across a variety of projects. Working closely with designers, architects, suppliers and project teams, you’ll help ensure everything is ordered accurately, delivered on time and kept within budget.

This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to develop your procurement experience within a design-led environment.

The Role

• Research and source suppliers, manufacturers, makers and showrooms for furniture, lighting, fabrics, flooring, stone, joinery and building materials.
• Request and compare quotations, checking pricing, lead times and minimum order requirements against project budgets.
• Support designers with product schedules, FF&E lists and material specifications, ensuring codes, dimensions, finishes and quantities are accurate.
• Raise purchase orders, confirm orders with suppliers and track progress through to delivery.
• Maintain project order trackers, proactively chasing updates and escalating delays or potential issues.
• Reconcile quotations, purchase orders, delivery notes and supplier invoices, supporting accurate financial administration.
• Monitor deposits, stage payments, credit notes and project costs, flagging any discrepancies or potential overspend.
• Coordinate deliveries, site access, storage and installation schedules with suppliers, contractors and project teams.
• Manage delivery discrepancies, damages, returns and replacements, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
• Maintain organised supplier records, trade accounts, price lists and material sample libraries.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and enjoys keeping multiple tasks and deadlines on track.
You’ll ideally have:

• 1–2 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or project administration, ideally within a design, interiors or construction environment.
• Strong administration skills and excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling pricing, quantities, product codes and specifications.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Good spreadsheet skills and experience maintaining trackers, records or project boards.
• The ability to manage competing priorities, monitor deadlines and proactively flag potential problems.
• Basic commercial awareness, including quotations, lead times, deposits, payment terms and delivery arrangements.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine interest in improving processes and working efficiently.
