Job Title: Consultant PsychiatristService Line: Male and Female AcuteProfessionally Accountable to: Medical DirectorManagerially Responsible to: Hospital Manager We are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Woking and provide senior medical cover on George Willard Ward, our 12 bed male mental health acute service and Kahlo Ward, our 11 bed female mental health acute service (please note the postholder will look after only 6 patients on this ward). The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines. The services provide a safe and stabilising environment for men who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. The ethos of our service is about assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we will support service users to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community. Our team will work closely and collaboratively with service users, their families and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge.
