This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineering leader ready to shape processes, drive delivery, and own technical direction.What Youll Do:Lead a major transition from an external dev partner to a newly built in-house teamAct as the senior technical authority, guiding architecture and best practicesBe a player-coach writing production code and leading by exampleHire and grow a small, effective engineering teamEstablish strong engineering processes for delivery, quality, and scaleCollaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, and business leadersShape long-term technical strategy, with potential to step into a CTO roleWhat we need from you7+ years in full-stack development, ideally with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and ReactProven experience leading technical teams and setting engineering standardsHands-on mindset with a strong bias toward shipping and problem-solvingExperience hiring, mentoring, and managing engineersA pragmatic approach to engineering process enough to ensure speed and stabilityCommercial awareness and a clear understanding of how tech supports business goalsConfidence in owning technical decisions and handling live systems under pressureWhy This Role?Opportunity to build something from the ground upBe the most senior technical voice in the businessTake real ownership of delivery, culture, and directionDefine how a growing organisation scales its engineering functionSeniority level
