We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to join the Senior Management Team and take responsibility for the financial management and control of the business.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, providing accurate management information and supporting the strategic direction of the company.

You will play an important role in driving financial performance, managing risk and ensuring the finance department operates as an effective business partner to the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities for the Financial Controller will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance department and leading the finance team.

• Producing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports within agreed deadlines.

• Managing the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

• Monitoring financial performance, analysing variances and reporting key findings to senior management.

• Maintaining robust financial controls, accounting policies and procedures.

• Managing cash flow, working capital, credit control and supplier payments.

• Overseeing payroll, insurance and HMRC reporting requirements.

• Managing relationships with banks, lenders and other financial partners.

• Coordinating the annual external audit process.

• Monitoring debt levels and ensuring compliance with financial covenants.

• Developing and monitoring financial KPIs and operational performance measures.

• Providing financial analysis to support investment decisions, pricing strategies and contract negotiations.

• Reviewing business operating costs and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and cost savings.

• Supporting the Managing Director and Board in delivering the company''s business strategy.

About You

To be successful as the Financial Controller you will be:

• An experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial control and management accounting.

• Commercially aware, with the ability to understand and influence wider business performance.

• Highly organised, analytical and comfortable working to tight reporting deadlines.

• Confident managing and developing a finance team.

• Experienced in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting.

• Able to build effective working relationships with senior management, external auditors, banks and other stakeholders.

• Proactive, hands-on and able to identify opportunities to improve financial processes and business performance.

• A confident communicator who can present financial information clearly and influence decision-making.
