 The Opportunity

360 Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to oversee mechanical and electrical engineering operations at a prestigious, business-critical financial services facility in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Engineering Manager, Technical Services Manager or experienced M&E Operations Manager looking to take ownership of engineering delivery within a high-profile corporate environment where operational reliability, technical excellence and service standards are essential.

Working within a demanding, professional environment, you will lead an established engineering function, manage technical service delivery and ensure that critical building systems are maintained to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will combine strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge with proven leadership abilities, commercial awareness and the confidence to engage with senior client representatives.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day mechanical and electrical engineering operations across a prestigious Central London facility.

  • Provide operational leadership, supervision, technical guidance and development to the engineering team.

  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, asset management and engineering compliance.

  • Coordinate and manage engineers, specialist contractors and subcontractors to ensure consistently high service standards.

  • Maintain the reliability, availability and performance of essential building services and engineering infrastructure.

  • Oversee building management systems (BMS), facilities controls and engineering asset management systems.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with client operational requirements, statutory obligations and engineering best practice.

  • Manage engineering schedules, resource allocation, team performance and technical competency.

  • Support operational budgets, maintenance expenditure, financial forecasting and cost management.

  • Monitor engineering KPIs, service performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, providing technical advice and operational updates.

  • Lead on engineering improvements, site assessments, technical reviews and operational changes.

  • Identify and resolve complex technical and operational issues, minimising disruption to business activities.

 Experience & Qualifications Required

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have successfully managed engineering operations within commercial offices, corporate headquarters, financial services environments or other business-critical facilities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in an Engineering Manager, Technical Services Manager, M&E Manager or Engineering Operations Manager position.

  • A strong technical background in mechanical and/or electrical building services engineering.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and specialist maintenance contractors.

  • Excellent understanding of PPM, reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, asset management and building services operations.

  • Experience operating within a demanding, client-facing facilities management environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of building services infrastructure, BMS and maintenance management systems.

  • Experience managing operational budgets, performance targets and engineering service delivery.

  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop engineering teams while maintaining high technical and professional standards.

A relevant engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical qualifications and practical experience will be considered.

Professional membership of an engineering institution, such as CIBSE or the IET, would be advantageous.

Experience within financial services, major corporate headquarters or other operationally critical environments would be particularly attractive.

 Salary & Benefits

The position offers a highly competitive remuneration package, including:

  • Basic salary: £73,500 per annum, potentially negotiable for an exceptional candidate.

  • Car allowance: £5,100 per annum.

  • Annual performance bonus: 8% potential.

  • Private medical insurance: Single cover.

  • Total potential annual cash package: £84,480.

  • A senior engineering leadership role within a prestigious Central London environment.

  • The opportunity to manage an important engineering operation with significant responsibility and visibility.

 Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is not simply a routine building maintenance management role.

You will be responsible for engineering operations supporting a high-profile financial services organisation, where building performance, operational resilience, safety and technical standards are integral to the working environment.

It is an opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to take real ownership of service delivery, influence engineering performance and develop a strong technical team within a professional, business-critical setting.

For candidates with the appropriate technical background, leadership experience and client-facing ability, this represents an excellent next step in their facilities management career.
