An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Structural Engineer to join an established and growing engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions across the built environment.

Working across a diverse portfolio of challenging projects, the consultancy provides specialist structural, construction and geotechnical engineering services. Its work spans complex buildings, major infrastructure, high-rise developments, deep basements and specialist temporary works.

With a strong emphasis on technical excellence, practical design and collaboration, this is an opportunity to join an experienced team working on some of the industry''s most interesting and technically demanding projects.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will take a leading role in the delivery of a varied portfolio of structural engineering projects, overseeing designs from concept through to detailed design and construction.

You will work closely with clients, contractors, architects and other engineering disciplines, providing technical expertise and developing practical, efficient and commercially viable engineering solutions.

The role will offer a good balance of hands-on design, project leadership, client interaction and mentoring junior members of the engineering team.

• Lead the structural design and delivery of a variety of complex building and infrastructure projects.

• Undertake and oversee structural calculations, assessments and detailed design packages.

• Develop innovative and practical solutions for both permanent and temporary works.

• Manage project workloads, programmes and technical deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

• Liaise directly with clients, contractors, architects and other engineering professionals.

• Review and check engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation.

• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to graduate and intermediate engineers.

• Attend project meetings and site visits, providing engineering support throughout the construction process.

• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and industry regulations.

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Several years'' experience working within a structural engineering consultancy or contractor environment.

• Strong technical experience in the design of building structures and/or temporary works.

• Experience working with reinforced concrete, structural steel and other construction materials.

• Confident undertaking complex structural calculations and technical assessments.

• Experience using structural design software such as Tekla, TEDDS, ETABS, SAFE, SCIA or similar.

• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage projects and build client relationships.

• Experience supporting or mentoring junior engineers.

• Chartered or working towards Chartership with the IStructE or ICE would be advantageous.
