Employee Relations Investigator

-283.24 per day (Umbrella) | 6-12 Month Rolling Contract | Hybrid Working | East London

We are currently seeking an experienced Employee Relations Investigator to join a large public sector organisation on an initial rolling contract, with the potential for 6-12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR/ER professional with a proven track record of conducting complex workplace investigations, managing sensitive employment matters and producing detailed investigation reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct formal investigations into complex disciplinary, grievance, whistleblowing and conduct matters.

• Act as an independent and impartial Investigating Officer.

• Gather and analyse evidence, including conducting formal witness and employee interviews.

• Produce detailed, evidence-based investigation reports.

• Present findings at formal hearings and respond to questions on investigative outcomes.

• Identify organisational risks and recommend improvements to policies and procedures.

• Work closely with HR colleagues, senior managers and trade unions.

Essential Experience

• Significant experience conducting complex workplace investigations.

• Strong knowledge of employment law, ER practices and ACAS guidance.

• Experience handling disciplinary, grievance and whistleblowing cases.

• Proven ability to produce investigation reports and present findings at formal hearings.

• Excellent interviewing, analytical and report-writing skills.

• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR experience, alongside relevant investigation training.

Contract Details

• Rate: -283.24 per day (Umbrella)

• Duration: Initial rolling contract, potential 6-12 months

• Working: Hybrid, 2-3 days on site per week

• Sector: Local Government / Public Sector
