HGV Technician - Day Shift Location: Reading areaHours: 08:00-16:30 (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE) + overtime at 1.5x basic rate An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a leading commercial vehicle service centre in the Reading area. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections, servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a range of HGVs. Carry out preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards. Support workshop efficiency by keeping accurate job records and documentation. Conduct wheel alignment, tyre fitting, and general mechanical upkeep. Maintain workshop safety, cleanliness, and compliance. Skills and Experience Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ, City and Guilds, or IMI). Proven experience working on HGVs or trailers in a dealership or fleet environment. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with attention to quality and safety. Full UK driving licence (HGV desirable but not essential). Professional attitude, teamwork, and commitment to high service standards.
