OverviewReferment have recently partnered with a commodities trading firm who are building a new Gas and Power trading desk. They are now looking to add some key people into their IT and Technology team, including a

Senior Systems Administrator . This is the first Systems Administrator hire for the firm, meaning there is a lot of opportunity for growth and impact for the successful applicant. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of infrastructure experience in a front office trading environment at either another commodities trading firm or hedge fund. This is an engineering heavy role, building the Cloud, DevOps and Security environment for a new infrastructure platform so extensive experience with Azure, AWS, Linux, Containers and scripting is essential to be consider a good fit for the role.

Responsibilities

Ensuring the technology is resilient, secure, reliable and efficient.

Solving operational issues utilising automation and integration.

Management and Delivery of IT infrastructure projects

3rd line support for the companies Infrastructure platforms

Key Skills

In depth knowledge of Cloud platforms (ideally both Azure and AWS)

Strong scripting/coding skills with Powershell, Python or similar

In depth knowledge of Microsoft cloud platforms including Entra ID, Office 365 and Microsoft Defender

Exposure to containerisation technologies such a Docker/Kubernetes
