About the role:
- Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their learning and development, helping them engage with the curriculum in a tailored, supportive environment.
- Implement individualized strategies and interventions to manage behaviour and promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to track progress and adapt learning plans to meet the specific needs of each child.
- Encourage positive interactions and communication among students, fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom.
- Assist with daily routines and personal care, ensuring students are supported in all aspects of their school day, both academically and socially.
The ideal candidate must:
- Have the right to work within the UK
- DBS registered on the update system or willing to purchase one
- Have experience working with students who have Autism
- Be comfortable and adaptable working in different environments
- Be able to support the teacher in and around the classroom
- Work with small groups of children
