Provide confident leadership and effective management to ensure the operational delivery of the service. Lead the delivery of a substantial programme of highway improvements, ensuring projects are delivered safely, to budget and within agreed programmes. Oversee the delivery of highway and traffic engineering schemes throughout their lifecycle, including: Road safety and casualty reduction Safer Roads and Community 20s initiatives Active travel and sustainable transport Public transport improvements Accessibility improvements Congestion reduction Carbon reduction and environmental improvements Innovation and value-for-money initiatives Act as the engineering lead on transport and highway projects, ensuring appropriate technical and engineering standards are maintained. Ensure project designs comply with current Department for Transport guidance, national standards, best practice and Council requirements.
