Position Overview:

The Product Owner, Manager will be responsible for developing and commercializing new products and line extensions for Insulet''s Digital Customer Experience.

The successful leader will have experience leading digital product management for global connected products, with the ability to translate business goals into high-impact product initiatives. Informed by deep understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics in the market, and technology constraints and opportunities, he/she/they will develop and lead the execution of a roadmap that positions Insulet for sustained market leadership. They’ll achieve this by cultivating empowered, high-impact teams, and guiding teams through the full product development lifecycle, providing strong cross-functional leadership. He/she/they will develop and own business cases for new product initiatives and work cross functionally to deliver market-beating products on-time and on-budget, to advance Insulet’s mission to improve the lives of people with diabetes.

ResponsibilitiesCultivate deep understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities.Lead teams through data-driven processes to test commercial viability and technical feasibility, and then translate learnings into business cases informed by clear roadmaps and global platform execution plansDevelop and articulate a clear vision for products and lead execution of the integrated roadmap to achieve enterprise and franchise level goalsOwn full product lifecycle, guiding trade-offs and release plans for new features, launches in new global markets, in-market sustaining activities, and technical debt retirementDefine integrated release targets and scope, value proposition and delivery to drive growth, provide customers with cadence of new innovations, and maximize return on investmentResponsible for on-market product performance, including but not limited to market share, retention, product complaints, etc.Accountable to build and deliver business casesLead execution and release of product initiatives with technology teams, medical, regulatory, manufacturing and other teams across Insulet to lead on-budget, on-time cross-functional execution to realize value and advance Insulet’s missionCollaborate with Product Marketing Managers to shape integrated launch strategy for global productsCollaborate with other product managers to establish processes and best practices for Product Management and Product Owners at InsuletCoordinate on architecture and scalability requirements and guide investment timingCreate bottom-up planning for annual and strategic plansCoordinate medical and scientific input and reviewCollaborate on franchise roadmap and priorities in relation to enterprise-wide strategiesKey Decision RightsDecisions related to product strategy, including setting product roadmap and defining feature setsDecisions related to priority of product features and improvementsRequired Leadership Skills and BehaviorsA passionate, inspirational leader who leads with an enterprise mindset, challenges the status quo, and can align the organization behind a clear vision and strategyHas strong emotional intelligence and ability to engage and lead others through change to advance new ways of workingExperience guiding high performance teams, driving accountability, empowerment, customer centricity and collaboration across functions and teams.

Education and ExperienceDemonstrated experience in a Product Management/Owner positionBachelor’s degree in engineering, Marketing, or Business preferredExperience with medical device product management, with deep knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements globally, preferredExperience developing and commercializing connected products/line extensions preferredExperience leading end-to-end product management
