Principal Protection & Control Engineer

OverviewJacobs UK and Ireland is recruiting an Electrical Engineer who can progress in High Voltage (HV) Protection and Control design to provide support to projects across Jacobs’ markets in the Energy and Power sector. This includes work on transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, inertia systems, wind farms and advanced facilities for mission critical industries in the technology and process sectors. We welcome professionals with HV energy infrastructure design experience and, in particular, those with an understanding of site-based work, build projects and contractors. Responsibilities
Progress in High Voltage (HV) Protection and Control design to provide project support across Jacobs’ markets.
Contribute to design related to transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, inertia systems, wind farms and other advanced facilities for mission critical industries.
Seek electrical professionals with site-based work experience and familiarity with building projects and contractor relationships.
Collaborate with teams and operate within Jacobs’ hybrid working policy.
Qualifications
A degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.
Experience within an electrical discipline and delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects with tier 1 and 2 contractors.
HV and LV experience 33kV - 400kV.
Experience preparing design calculations, reports, and detailed drawings. CAD (AutoCAD or Microstation) preferred but not essential.
