Assistant Manager
Assistant Manager - Luxury Retail
Location: Belfast
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially driven Assistant Manager to join one of the UK''s most respected luxury retail businesses.
This is an opportunity for someone who understands the importance of exceptional customer service, relationship building and commercial performance, and who wants to develop their career within the luxury sector.
Working closely with the Store Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business, leading a team and playing an active role in driving sales, developing client relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities.
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in luxury watches, jewellery or premium retail, although we would also welcome applications from high-end hospitality, premium automotive and other high-value sales environments.
The Role
This is a varied and commercially focused position, combining team leadership, client development, sales management and operational responsibility.
You will be expected to lead from the front, spending significant time with clients and the team while ensuring the business operates to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Store Manager in leading, motivating and developing a high-performing team.
Driving sales performance and monitoring key commercial measures, including revenue, margin, conversion and stock performance.
Building strong relationships with clients, developing a loyal customer base and identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts.
Taking an active role in sourcing, buying and selling high-value luxury products, identifying opportunities through client relationships and other approved channels.
Identifying opportunities to acquire desirable models, understanding market values and negotiating commercially sound purchases.
Using CRM systems to manage client relationships, develop sales opportunities and maintain a proactive pipeline of prospective buyers and sellers.
Delivering personalised client experiences through appointments, telephone, email and other digital channels.
Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and customer demand to identify new opportunities.
Maintaining excellent operational, stock management, security and presentation standards.
Coaching team members, conducting regular performance reviews and ensuring colleagues have the knowledge and confidence to deliver exceptional service.
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong commercial mindset, excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in the luxury sector.
You will ideally have previous experience in an Assistant Manager, Supervisor or senior sales position, with a proven ability to lead people, deliver against targets and develop lasting customer relationships.
Experience within luxury watches, jewellery or premium retail would be advantageous, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in individuals from premium automotive, luxury hospitality and other high-value sales environments who understand how to engage discerning customers and deliver a personalised service.
You will ideally demonstrate:
Previous experience in a target-driven sales environment, with responsibility for achieving commercial objectives.
Experience supervising or managing a team within a customer-facing business.
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the confidence to engage with high-net-worth and discerning clients.
A proactive approach to developing new business, generating leads and maintaining a strong sales pipeline.
Commercial awareness, with an understanding of pricing, negotiation, profitability and margin.
Confidence using CRM systems and customer data to develop relationships and convert opportunities.
A genuine interest in luxury watches, horology and prestigious brands, ideally including Rolex.
Excellent communication skills and a professional, personable approach.
The ambition to develop specialist product knowledge through formal brand and technical training.
The Opportunity
Joining an established and highly regarded luxury business, you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise within one of the most exciting areas of the luxury market.
Full product and technical training will be provided, including exposure to some of the world''s most prestigious watch brands.
For someone with the right commercial ability, personality and ambition, this is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within the luxury sector.
If you have a successful background in luxury retail, premium automotive, high-end hospitality or another relationship-led sales environment, we''d love to hear from you.
