The main focus of the role will be operating and setting a Doosan 400 CNC turning centre with Fanuc controls This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys working on one-off, small-batch and repeat components, rather than simply producing the same parts day in, day out. The Role You will be responsible for: Setting and tooling CNC turning machinery Programming and modifying programs using Fanuc controls Producing one-off, small-batch and repeat components Carrying out both rough and finish machining Working with components requiring spherical/radiused machining Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods Inspecting your own work and maintaining quality standards Working independently and helping to identify opportunities to make better use of machine capacity Supporting other machining operations when required The business also has Colchester lathes, used both conventionally and as basic CNC/teach machines, as well as XYZ VMC and ProTrak machinery. There is therefore plenty of scope for someone who is genuinely multi-skilled and interested in developing their role across different machines.
