A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor (Minor Works Team) to join their Capital Programmes and Procurement Service as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a capital programmes or corporate property environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role:The Building Surveyor will be based within the Minor Works Team, delivering projects ranging from £2k to £4m in value. The team provides a multi-disciplinary service including Building Surveying, Mechanical and Electrical design, Structural design, Cost and Contract Management, Fire Risk Assessment, Principal Designer services and CDM compliance.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Delivering, managing and administering construction contracts from inception to completion• Analysing building defects and preparing detailed specifications and schedules of work• Preparing feasibility studies, project briefs and cost estimates• Producing and reviewing technical drawings, including AutoCAD designs• Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Planning legislation and CDM RegulationsThe CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:• BSc in Building Surveying or a similar RICS-accredited Bachelor''s degree• Experience working within a local authority or public sector capital delivery environment• Demon
