Ecom Recruitment is proud to be working with a fast-growing tech-driven organisation in Manchester that’s building the future of payroll solutions.

We’re on the lookout for a hands-on Development Lead to join their team on-site in Manchester, leading the delivery of a modern payroll platform using a robust tech stack including C#, .NET, Azure, and React.

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned developer who’s passionate about mentoring others, delivering real business value, and helping shape technical direction in a collaborative, people-first environment.

The Role

Take full ownership of delivery from idea to live product.Lead a cross-functional team to build and maintain business-critical payroll solutions.Act as a coach and mentor for your development team—setting clear goals and guiding their growth.Work closely with senior stakeholders across tech and product, including the Associate Director – Payroll and the CTO.Drive engineering best practices including TDD, pairing, peer reviews, and continuous improvement.Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs, and QAs to ensure smooth, predictable delivery.

What We’re Looking For

A proven background in leading software development teams in a hands-on capacity.Strong experience with C#/.NET, Azure (Functions, Logic Apps), and React.Experience line managing engineers and helping them reach their career goals.Confident communicator with the ability to work across multiple disciplines.A passion for quality code, clean architecture, and modern development practices.
