Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

With the expansion of our business in Exeter, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team.Role Purpose:Provide a quantity surveying service across a range of projects, reporting to a Commercial Manager, to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget and that accurate and timely reports are produced for senior management.Role Responsibilities:Management of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with supply chainMeasure, price, negotiate and agree budgets and costs including variations to project scopeCheck designs and project costs are correct and raise/resolve queries where necessaryAttend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actionsProduce and maintain up to date procurement schedulesCompile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of ordersCompile subcontract orders for approval and provide ongoing contract administration through to Final AccountingVisit site to measure and value works completedAssess subcontractor payment entitlement and process paymentsCarry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast to keep the management team informed of project performanceWork closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as requiredAssist in the guidance and development of junior surveyorsOther commercial matters as requiredThe ideal candidate will demonstrate depth of experience in a commercial role within residential construction and be self motivated, detail orientated and very organised with an aptitude for working with numbers and absorbing technical information.
A minimum requirement for this position is a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. A full clean UK driving license is required and access to a vehicle.Hold a relevant degree (e.g. Quantity Surveying or Construction Management)Demonstrate depth of experience in a commercial role within residential constructionBe able to work well both in a team and individuallyPossess good communication skillsBe self-motivated, detail orientated and very organised, with an aptitude for working with numbers and absorbing and analysing technical informationHave good IT skills (including proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word)Hold a full driving licence20 Days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with time of serviceCompany pensionCycle to work schemeLife insurancePrivate medical insuranceSick payIf you are interested in the above role, please send your CV and cover letter to jobs@acornpg.org
